Czech Republic has more than 15 charging network operators. Prices vary significantly — the difference between the cheapest and most expensive DC charging can be €0.20/kWh. This overview helps you choose the most cost-effective operator.

AC charging prices (11–22 kW)

ČEZ: €0.26/kWh — largest network in Czech Republic (500+ stations). E.ON: €0.28/kWh — strong presence in Moravia. PRE Charge: €0.24/kWh — competitive pricing, mainly Prague. Polyfazer: €0.24/kWh — smaller network, good prices. Lidl/Kaufland/IKEA: FREE — limited stations but excellent for shopping stops.

DC fast charging prices (50+ kW)

ČEZ: €0.39/kWh (up to 150 kW), €0.47/kWh (up to 350 kW). E.ON: €0.42/kWh. Ionity: €0.55/kWh (no subscription), €0.35/kWh (with Passport at €12/month). Tesla Supercharger: €0.39/kWh (open to all CCS2 vehicles). Orlen Charge: €0.43/kWh. Shell Recharge: €0.46/kWh.

Roaming — one card for all networks

If you do not want to manage 5+ operator accounts, get a roaming card. Plugsurfing offers unified prices with a €0.04–0.08/kWh markup over direct payment. Chargemap Pass has similar terms. Shell Recharge card covers most European networks. Downside: slightly higher prices than direct operator payment.

What works best?

For daily commuting

Charge at home (€0.18/kWh off-peak). For midday top-ups, use free stations at supermarkets. If you need public AC, PRE Charge offers the best price in Prague (€0.24/kWh).

For road trips

Tesla Supercharger (€0.39/kWh) offers the best price-to-performance ratio for DC charging. Ionity with Passport (€0.35/kWh) is even cheaper but requires a €12 monthly fee — worth it from 2+ road trips per month.

For occasional charging

A roaming card (Plugsurfing/Chargemap) gives you access to 90% of stations in Czech Republic without individual operator registrations. Slightly higher price but maximum convenience.

DC charging prices in Czech Republic dropped by an average of 8% over the past year. Competition is growing — Tesla opened Superchargers to all, Ionity added the affordable Passport tier. We expect further price decreases as new operators enter and solar-powered stations expand.
